NSMC Regional Development and Support Manager (2 posts)

Fixed Term Contract (Initially 2 years with possibility to extend subject to funding)

Salary: £38,000 - £45,000

Would you like to help make people healthier? Could you change behaviour and influence people to give up smoking, lose weight, eat more healthily and cut their alcohol intake? Are you a good all-round communicator? This is your chance to make a difference.

Social marketing is becoming an increasingly effective way to ensure that health messages are understood by the right people helping them to make positive lifestyle changes to improve their health.

The National Social Marketing Centre (NSMC) is looking to appoint two Regional Development and Support Managers to expand Social Marketing across the country. The appointments will work alongside Communications and Public Health teams at the Strategic Health Authorities and Regional Government Offices in the South West and South Central regions.

The successful candidates will work with Primary Care Trust staff to help deliver, develop and evaluate the growing number of Social Marketing programmes targeting priority individuals and populations to improve their lifestyles.

You will have excellent communication skills and be good at dealing with people at all levels. Ideally you will have an understanding of Social Marketing, particularly relating to health improvement and health inequalities, but we will provide on-the-job training for the right candidates.
